Transcript[]
- Panel 1
Roy is walking back to Julia.
Julia: Bad news, I take it?
Roy: Is there any other kind?
Roy: Xykon's team summoned some new ally and are now on pace to have searched every single dungeon in this canyon in...I don't know, four days? Five, at most?
- Panel 2
Roy walks past Julia.
Roy: Although....maybe I'm jumping to conclusions. It could just be a short-term spell...
Julia: No, high-end summonings can stretch for days or weeks. If it already lasted longer than an hour, it'll probably last until the task they paid for is done.
- Panel 3
Roy stands to the left of Julia, having turned around to face her.
Roy: I guess that would have been too good to be true.
Julia: Plus, you probably don't have four or five days. You have half that.
Roy: How do you figure?
- Panel 4
Roy closes his eyes and puts his left hand on his head as he talks to Julia.
Julia: Well, if I was building a place like this, I wouldn't put the prize anywhere near either end, because-
Roy: Because if you did, there's a 50-50 chance that anyone who started searching at one end would stumble on it right away.
Julia: Exactly. So it's probably in the middle.
- Panel 5
The panel zooms out to show Roy walking back towards the wall of Serini's dungeon.
Julia: Unless...unless they thought that anyone searching would think of that...
Roy: I'm sorry, Julia, I need to cut this short.
Roy: I need to ask Toormuck some questions she's not going to want to answer about how long we have left.
Roy: (thinking) Elan? Are you there? Tell Sunny to open the wall up, I need to come back in.
Elan: (thinking) (off-panel) Sure thing, Roy!
- Panel 6
The panel shows Roy climbing into the hole in the wall made by Sunny's anti-magic cone, with Roy's colors being muted as he gets into the cone as well, with Julia running towards him.
Julia: I'll check back in a few hours.
Roy: You don't need to do that, Julia. This isn't your responsibility.
Julia: I don't mind, and this is way more interesting than homework. Just go do what you need to do.
- Panel 7
The hole in the wall winks out of existence as Julia watches.
- Panel 8
The panel focuses on Julia.
Julia: Besides, it's like I said last time we talked...
- Panel 9
Julia's appearance starts to shift.
- Panel 10
The appearance shift is complete, revealing that "Julia" was Eugene Greenhilt the entire time.
Eugene: I can't leave it up to you when it's my future on the line.
- Panel 11
Eugene looks down at Bloodfeast, who looks back at him.
- Panel 12
Bloodfeast leaves the panel to the right as Eugene continues to look at him.
Eugene: Wow, good thing they don't have a druid that can cast Speak With Animals, or I'd have just blown up my own spot real good, huh?
