Argent is Hinjo's dire wolf paladin mount. The name in Latin means "Silver".
Hinjo calls his mount from the Celestial Realm through the use of a Pokeball, as do the other paladins of the Sapphire Guard. The running gag was introduced by Miko Miyazaki.[1]
Belkar expressed considerable envy at the appearance of Hinjo's mount, complaining that he gets to "unleash the fury" while Belkar got a wiener dog when the party bought mounts.
Argent was poisoned by the Huecuva, causing Hinjo to send him back to the Celestial Realm for healing, keeping him out of the remainder of the Battle of Azure City.
Hinjo called Argent in to fight the pit fiend summoned by Qarr on Therkla's Island. Argent's bite damages devils and other creatures vulnerable to silver such as lycanthropes. This is due to dental work he recieved after Shojo fed him table scraps consisting of "a 20-lb. tub of strawberry cake frosting." Presumably, the dentist used silver to fill the resultant cavities, to which devils are vulnerable.[2]
