- Panel 1
Julia walks past Roy with one hand on her chin, with her brother holding a hand out to her.
Julia: Wait, OK... I have an idea.
Julia: What if you put the aberration somewhere really obvious, and use that to lure the bugbear into a position where you could kill her easily?
Roy: Too risky. What if we can't take her out before she kills Sunny?
- Panel 2
Julia has turned around, lookintg at her brother while showing him the palm of her hand.
Julia: No, I'm saying don't worry about using the anti-magic beam afterward, just use it-
Roy: As bait? Sunny is a child, Julia.
Julia: So?
- Panel 3
Roy is walking past his sister, looking away from her while showing her the palm of his hand.
Roy: So I refused to put you in danger for this. I'm not sending another person's kid to die on purpose.
Julia: But you said the whole world was at stake. Doesn't that imply-
- Panel 4
Roy has turned around, folding his arms while the panel has zoomed in a bit on him and Julia.
Roy: What? That I should do literally anything to save it? That the ends justify the means?
Julia: Kinda, yeah!
- Panel 5
The panel focuses on Roy, who has stretched his arms out towards his sister.
Roy: Look, if someone else wants to try and save the world, they are welcome to do so in whatever moral and ethical framework they prefer.
Roy: Within reason.
Roy: But I don't see anyone else stepping up to the plate, so the multiverse is stuck with me and my conscience.
- Panel 6
The panel zooms out again to show the Greenhilt siblings arguing with each other.
Julia: And what if it turns out it's necessary to go against that?
Roy: It's impossible to ever know if it is actually necessary! Just that it seems easier!
- Panel 7
The Greenhilt siblings continue to argue.
Julia: But what if you're wrong?
Roy: Well, then, I guess I'll be dead and it won't be my problem anymore!
Julia: That's easy for you to say!
- Panel 8
Roy glares at Julia while pointing a finger at her.
Roy: That's enough, Julia. Stop it.
Roy: If you want to help, do it within my parameters. Which to be clear, includes not sacrificing children.
Roy: Otherwise, stop calling and go back to your schoolwork.
- Panel 9
Roy continues to look at his sister, who looks at the ground.
Julia: Ok...OK, sorry.
Julia: ...
Julia: I'm sorry, Roy.
- Panel 10
The panel focuses on Julia, who has closed her eyes.
Julia: I get carried away sometimes. It's just...hard.
Julia: Being stuck up here, unable to contribute in any meaningful way to something that's my...family's burden.
Julia: I feel so... useless.
- Panel 11
The panel zooms out to show Roy and Julia again, with them smiling at each other.
Roy: It's fine. It really is.
Roy: This is a lot of pressure for anyone, and you're at an age when you shouldn't need to worry about this sort of thing.
Roy: I'm sure we'll figure out a way to use Sunny's abilities without being reckless about it. I just need to use my Greenhilt brain to work it out in time.
- Panel 12
Roy closes his eyes while holding one finger up to Julia.
Roy: Also, I'm at the North Pole. Cliffport-and everywhere else-is to the south, so technically you're stuck down there. Not up.
Julia: I'm glad I'm here to provide a backup Greenhilt brain that hasn't been hit in the head nearly as often.
