A spell used by Vaarsuvius to retrieve Mr. Scruffy from the arena,[1] and later to take Little Whiskers back to Veldrina.[2]
Regarding this spell, V's familiar Blackwing remarks: "I don't know what's weirder—that you keep preparing that spell, or that you keep needing it."
The spell is a parody of the series of "Hand" spells (Mage Hand, Interposing Hand, Forceful Hand, Grasping Hand, Crushing Hand), which are generic in the SRD, but in the published D&D material, bear the name of the spells' creator, the Archmage Bigby. Bigby was a character created by Rob Kuntz as an NPC but ultimately played as a PC by D&D co-creator Gary Gygax. The name is changed due to copyright and trademark issues with the Wizards of the Coast, or perhaps to highlight that Gygax himself was unable to use the name after he was forced out of TSR in 1985.
