Vaarsuvius Makes a Deal with the Devil(s)

Vaarsuvius leaves the Azurite fleet and retires to Tiny Island in order to research spells which will be capable of finding Haley, who had been under the effects of Xykon's Cloister spell. While there V is tormented by the imp Qarr. During this time, an Ancient Black Dragon who was the mother of the Black Dragon of Wooden Forest finds V on the island and they do battle. When the dragon emerges victorious, rather than killing V, she leaves V there while going to destroy V's family, as vengeance for V killing her son. It is at this time that Qarr proposes a meeting with the Inter-Fiend Cooperation Commission (IFCC). The IFCC proposes a deal with V whereby they would Soul Splice three powerful wizards from the past who's souls were in their possession, granting V the power V needs to defeat the dragon and save V's family. Vaarsuvius accepts the deal, and is able to save V's family. But the soul splice corrupts V's motivations, and leads V to actions which have far-reaching consequences.
