Nergal is a member of the Babylonian Pantheon. He and his wife, Ereshkagal, are the gods of Death and Destruction and the Underworld in the Western Mythology, respectively. He is first mentioned in Comparative Mythology, strip #0737 of Order of the Stick, by Malack, an albino lizardfolk who is a priest of Nergal in the Empire of Blood.
Appearance[]
Though Nergal himself has not made an appearance in the comic, a statue of him did appear[1]. Malack described him as a "lion-headed god of Death and Destruction", and he also appeared to have a lion's tail, as well as wings. Other than that, his anatomy appears to be human. It is told that his fiery rage "brings an end to all things"[1].
