Firuk Blackore is a brewmaster at the temple of Thor in Firmament.

On the Origin of PCs[]

Brewmaster Blackore was present when High Priest Hurak sent the young dwarven cleric Durkon Thundershield on a "mission" in human lands. Though he warned Hurak of the dangers of messing with prophecies, they moved on from the subject and Blackore asked Hurak if he would join him for a beer.

Utterly Dwarfed[]

Still a brewmaster for the temple of Thor 20 years following Durkon's banishment, Blackore was present along with three assistant overnight caretaker acolytes, Tinna, Rogo and Minrah, when the group of vampires under the command of "Durkon Thundershield" assaulted the temple. Sealing themselves within the temple while Brother Sandstone held the vampires off, they remained there for six hours until the Order of the Stick attempted to enter through the back door with the rune granted by High Priestess Rubyrock. Though initially attacked by the acolytes who were under the impression that they were working with the vampires, the Order was let inside the temple. Blackore offered drinks to the Order, of which only Belkar Bitterleaf accepted. However, he dropped his drinks in shock when Durkon Thundershield's name was mentioned.

Cursing the late Hurak for his foolishness in sending Durkon away, he was made to sit down on one of the benches by the acolytes, following which he revealed the truth behind Durkon's "mission" to the rest of the Order of the Stick. He feels great guilt at never telling the truth to Durkon's family despite the secrecy not forestalling the prophesy.[2]

To help the Order prepare for their battle with "Durkon", he provided them with several potions from the temple brewery and his own private stash. These included, Cure Serious Wounds, Remove Paralysis, Magic Vestment, and Greater Magic Fang potions.[3]

After the Order went to find and destroy "Durkon", Firuk sought out Sigdi Thundershield, who was present with him when they returned to the temple.[4] He provided drinks to the party after the battle.

Trivia[]

  • Brewmaster Blackore is once referred to by Sigdi Thundershield as "Fyruk".[5] All other published instances of his first name are spelled "Firuk"
