Fyron Pucebuckle was a noted Archmage and Illusionist of Cliffport (one of at least five other wizards of the same name there) and winner of at least one Wizzie award.
Eugene Greenhilt became his apprentice and bonded with him more than he ever did with his own father, even after their cooperation ended.
One Wednesday in spring, Xykon saw Fyron's "badass" looking crown in a tour Fyron was giving. Xykon returned to Fyron's tower that evening to take it from him, and the two engaged in a duel. When Eugene tried to intervene to help his master, Xykon trapped him in a force bubble.
After an extended duel, Fyron overpowered Xykon, while showing contempt for sorcery as opposed to wizardry--a sentiment Xykon hated. However, Xykon feigned defeat long enough to grab Fyron's own Wizzie award and beat him to death with it. Xykon zombified Fyron, took the crown and teleported away.
Eugene swore an Oath of Vengeance to hunt Xykon.
