Xykon: Heh, what's hilarious here is that you think you can actually destroy me.
Xykon: Go ahead and pound my body into dust, I'll just grow a new one later.

Soon: I suppose it would be prudent to kill the goblin who is carrying your phylactery around his neck as well, then.
Soon: I may not be able to smash it myself due to my insubstantial nature—
Soon: —but I can instruct the first human to enter the room about the particulars.

Beat. Soon's Ghost smiles as Xykon panics without a word.
- Panel 4
Xykon flies off at full speed.
Xykon: Redcloak! Stop waving that thing around and get the hell out of here!
Redcloak: What? But I'm done—
Redcloak turns the last Ghost-martyr, "POOF!"
Xykon: Just do it! Go! GO!!!

Soon catches up and stabs Xykon, who runs into Redcloak, ruining his concentration, "fizzle!"
Xykon: AHHH!
Redcloak: AHHH!

Soon: Smite Evil!
Soon slashes Redcloak with his sword, knocking the goblin commander to the ground.

Soon's ghost: Smite Evil!
Soon's ghost slashes his sword through Xykon's head, interrupting his spell, "fizzle!"

Xykon: Hey Redcloak... we really had a shot at the prize there for a minute, didn't we?
Redcloak: Yeah.
Redcloak: Yeah, we did.

Soon prepares to deliver the coup de grace.
Miko (off-panel): I, Miko Miyazaki—

Miko stands by the throne holding O-Chul's katana raised above her head.
Miko: —now fulfill the divine destiny that the Twelve Gods have revealed to me!

Soon: No! Miko, you don't need to—
Xykon: I think that's our exit cue.
Xykon flies away, picking up Redcloak, "whisk!"

Miko uses O-Chul's sword to shatter the sapphire.

- Smite Evil allows Soon to deliver extra damage with his attacks against evil creatures. Soon is very high level (21+), so he can do this 5 times per day with a bonus of +21 or so to damage.

- This is the final appearance of the Blue Crewcut Sapphire Guardsman and the Black-haired Sapphire Guardswoman. They both first appeared with the rest of the guard in #427, Guarding the Sapphire.
