Panel 1

Lien: Hey! You down there in the cloak! Are you going to tell us why you're holding us prisoner?
Serini: Wasn't planning on it, no.
Lien: What's that in the cauldron? Is that the antidote to the poison you gave us?

Panel 2

Serini: Antidote? Oh, that was a bluff. You don't need one.
Serini: It was just sleeping poison, I made up the stuff about it killing him so you'd surrender to save his life.

Panel 3

O-Chul: If it makes you feel any better, I greatly appreciate--
Lien: It does not. No.

Panel 4

Serini: What it is, is an amnesia potion.
Serini: When I dope you full of it, you'll forget ever seeing me or this place, and you'll report back to your boss that you looked high and low and couldn't find anything.

Panel 5

Serini: So not much point in me giving you the whole spiel on why I'm doing this, since you won't remember anyway.

Panel 6

O-Chul: Please listen to me. If you care about this place and keeping people away from it, then we are not your enemies.
O-Chul: There is a sorcerer lich named Xykon who--

Panel 7

Serini: Xykon? I know all about Xykon.
Serini: I have firsthand experience.

Panel 8

The cloaked figure turns around and takes off their hood, revealing themself to be an aged Serini. The left half of her body is mottled in rotting green.
Serini: As in, he's the reason I don't have my first hand.

Trivia[]

  • This strip was a major reveal for the comic, showing that the mysterious voice from #1189 is in fact Serini Toormuck. She had not appeared in the comic for 13 years except for #1189 and #1225 where her identity was unknown.
    • Her reveal also shows for the first time that she has some physical deformity in her head, body, hand and foot which has turned her green.
  • This is the first time Serini is depicted in the regular art style of the comic. She was previously invisible, or depicted in the crayon style of The Crayons of Time, or drawn in her own diary.
