Hieronymus Grubwiggler is a wizard in Greysky City. His assistant was Giro.

He experimented with 'envivification' and created flesh golems.

His castle was a target of Haley Starshine until he bought "protection" from the Thieves' Guild.

Celia visited him so that she could resurrect Roy, however all that Grubwiggler did was envivificate his skeleton, giving her a remote so that she could control him. When Celia refused to pay him the GP, he attempted to seize her, but Haley showed up and hit him on the head, disabling him.

After some pursuit by flesh golems, the girls managed to escape, but Roy's skeleton was left behind.

Grubwiggler then went to the Thieves Guild to complain about Haley, because he wrongly believed that she was still associated with the Guild. This alerted Crystal, Bozzok and Hank to Haley's return to Greysky City, and they agreed to retrieve everything she had stolen from Grubwiggler due to the protection contract's Stolen Item Retrieval Clause.

Eventually the Guild compromised with Haley, withdrew their protection of Grubwiggler's operation, and helped her steal Roy's bones back from Grubwiggler. Crystal killed Grubwiggler with a Death Attack during the heist, despite Bozzok's desire that Grubwiggler survive.

He was raised from the dead by the Church of Loki at the request of Bozzok, who asked Grubwiggler to return the favor by reanimating Crystal as a sapient flesh golem after her death. Grubwiggler agreed despite believing that sapient golems are a liability. He obliged Bozzok's questionable request due partially to Bozzok offering several times more money than is typical for Grubwiggler's contracts and due partially to his annoyance at being repeatedly inconvenienced by the Thieves' Guild. After Crystal turned against Bozzok and began the beating that would eventually kill him, Grubwiggler taunted Bozzok with the knowledge of his imminent death and teleported away.
