Haley: I'll get started on bypassing the trap.
Serini: Keep a grip on your tulips. Sunny can turn it off with a glance.

Roy: Here's how we'll do it: I want two at a time to step across the line while Sunny is looking down at it.
Roy: Then Sunny, you'll close your eye and they'll step back across and into the dungeon.
Sunny: Got it!

Roy (thinking): Blackwing, are you there?
Blackwing (thinking) (off-panel): Keepin' frosty, Roy. That's a joke, because I'm-

Blackwing, still in his snowman disguise, is watching Team Evil from a ledge.
Blackwing (thinking): Pretty much. They're taking a snack break at the moment.
Xykon: Look at you people, with you're chewing. I'm disgusted.
Oona: Wasn't bone man with tiny gold hat eating once?
Xykon: Yeah, but that was before I stopped being some kind of degenerate with the urge to masticate three times a day.

Back in the tunnel, Haley and Elan are preparing to step across the line together.
Roy (thinking): We're back behind the door I had you fly in before?
Roy (thinking): As soon as you can slip away without being seen, I want you to fly back down here and rejoin the party.

Blackwing (thinking): Isn't it more valuable to have me out here keeping an eye on the bad guys?

Sunny has shut his eye. Elan and Haley are in the process of zapping over the line.
Roy (thinking): Maybe, but we're heading into the Final Dungeon and you won't be able to follow us.
Roy (thinking): I don't want to leave you out there with no possibility of backup if you get spotted.
Roy (thinking) Besides, we're pretty sure we know what Xykon's going to be doing for the next 48 hours or so.

Blackwing is flying into the tunnel.
Blackwing: Awwww, Roy, you care about me! Like I'm part of the team!
Roy: Uh, yeah. You literally are part of the team.
Roy: Frankly we're dripping in sidekicks at this point.

Blackwing: I'm sure. They got distracted because the big gold guy started a demo of the hottest new free-to-play game.

Two monodrones are standing in front of it, with one holding a platter with a single marshmallow on it and bearing a sign reading 10 gp! and the other holding a platter with two marshmallows on it and bearing a sign reading or wait 14 min 59 sec.
Xykon: Ooooo! The left one! I'll buy the left one!
Monster in the Darkness: No, you should wait and get the two on the right.
Redcloak: He shouldn't get either, because he doesn't eat! We just talked about this!!

- The Quinton is presenting a game representing the Stanford Marshmallow Experiment. The goal of the experiment is to see if one either eats the one marshmallow presented to them, or wait about 15 minutes to eat two of them. Xykon wants to eat the one Marshmallow straight away, but the MitD suggests to wait, which is the intention of the experiment. Of course, this could also be the MitD stalling for time.
- MitD saying the right choice is to wait for the better option shows personal growth, as a result of his interactions with O-Chul. MitD used to be impulsive and unable to delay gratification, but he now shows more patience.
- This is the latest appearance of:
- Redcloak, the High Priest of the Dark One and Xykon's chief minion. He has appeared in one hundred and thirty-three strips, first appearing in #23, "Meanwhile...". He is the most frequently appearing character outside of the Order and their animal companions and familiars. Alongside Xykon, he also features heavily in the prequel book, Start of Darkness.
- Xykon, the Epic lich sorcerer and leader of Team Evil, has appeared in one hundred and twenty strips, first appearing in #13, "Plot, Ahoy!". Alongside Redcloak, he also features heavily in the prequel book, Start of Darkness.
- Oona, a member of a bugbear tribe that lives near Kraagor's Gate. She is a recent addition to Team Evil and has made twenty-six appearances, first appearing in #1032.
- Greyview, Oona's worg animal companion, first appearing in #1036. He has made twenty-three appearances.
