A Kobold

Kobolds are small reptilian creatures who feature semi-frequently in the Order of the Stick comics. They are generally known for being low-level and easy encounters[1], and have a particularly bad history with halflings. Physically, they are the same height as halflings and gnomes, have orange skin, yellow eyes, reptilian tails and large, jagged-toothed mouths.

Society[edit | edit source]

Though the kobold race has not been given much depth or backstory, Malack, priest of Nergal and friend of General Tarquin, divulges that Tiamat, a goddess normally associated with reptilian folk, prefers kobolds to lizardfolk, Malack's race. He also comments that kobolds "prefer to hang around in dark caves or hidden valleys, rather than get too involved with world politics"[2].

Notable Kobolds[edit | edit source]

A number of specific kobolds feature in the comics, and their names generally consist of a two-syllable name consisting of the same three leters repeated twice.
