Lancer is an yrthak animal companion of Oona. Yrthaks are large animals with an appearance that can be compared to a giant bald eyeless bat with a unicorn horn. It has a sonic attack which emanates from the horn and is capable of carrying Oona aloft for long periods.

Oona used Lancer to attack O-Chul and Lien as they trekked across the frozen Gelid Glacier towards the North Pole. The paladins escaped by using Lancer's sonic weapon to shatter a hole in the ice. Lien was able to "buddy breathe" with O-Chul using her Ring of Water Breathing and remained underwater long enough for Oona to give up and fly home.

Lancer was injured by Lien's crossbow in the skirmish, but the wound does not appear to be serious.
