Julia: But I guess you have to admit Dad wasn't all bad, all the time, then?
Roy: Julia, listen…there's something I need to tell you about when I was temporarily dead. Dad agreed to—

Panel 2

Elan: They're back!!
Haley, Vaarsuivus and Blackwing are flying in the background towards the ship
Elan: Hey everyone, they're back!

Panel 3

Elan: Hooray, you're safe!
Haley: Were you watching for me the whole time, or were you wistfully gazing at the horizon?
Elan: I was multitasking! It's like regular tasking, only moreso!

Panel 4

Carol: Welcome back! How did the scouting go?
Haley: Sort of a mixed bag, really.

Julia: I'll call you later?
Roy: OK, but if I'm in the middle of vanquishing or being vanquished, I won't answer.

Panel 7

Roy: Love, kid. Don't forget that.

Panel 11

Belkar: Also I need you to use that cantrip you have that flavors things 'cause I ran out of cinnamon and what passes for breakfast on this ship is—wait! No! I was supposed to wait longer before asking, wasn't I? Crap!
Belkar: Go back out and fly in again, come on, I'm new at this.

D&D Context[]

  • Dire animals are a class of larger and more ferocious creatures.
  • Fiendish creatures are denizens of the Lower Planes. As such they are inherently evil and have special qualities. The Fiendish template can be applied to any type of creature, not just the Outsider Types. Half-fiends are descended from fiends but have other parentage.
