The Rookie was a junior officer working for the Cliffport Police Department. He was involved with investigating the string of murders in Cliffport that were committed by Nale and Thog and unofficially took over the department from the Cliffport Chief of Police when the Chief was killed by Nale.
Despite initially seeming like a regular newbie officer, he was amongst the few involved in the murder case who showed competence, quickly deducing from the murder locations that something was happening in Cliffport Park and taking the initiative to attempt to question the Order of the Stick. Following the Chief of Police's murder by Nale, he informally took command of the department, leading them into arresting Thog and Elan, who had been kidnapped and disguised as his twin brother and later giving the explanation to the mayor of Cliffport.
