Brother Sandstone was a cleric of Thor at the temple in Firmament. When "Durkon" and his vampires attacked the temple, most of the clerics had gone home for the day, but he was among those who were still there. He fought the vampires in front of the gate to the temple, covering the retreat of the assistant overnight caretaker acolytes, Tinna, Rogo, and Minrah. The acolytes closed and sealed the doors to the temple before the vampires could get in.[2]
Brother Sandstone was killed by "Durkon"'s thralls while "Durkon" was communicating with Hel.[3] Minrah has vowed to avenge his death.[4]
Sandstone was turned into a vampire by "Durkon" and his spawn, and "Durkon" accelerated the spawning process using the spell he learned from Malack's Staff. He attempted to dominate Minrah and have her attack Vaarsuvius when the Order were trapped inside their own forcecage surrounded by Sandstone and his vampires.[5]
When Hilgya Firehelm arrived on the scene, Sandstone became distracted and Vaarsuvius was able to drop the forcecage. The vampire Sandstone was destroyed by Roy in the ensuing melee.
Powers and Abilities[]
Sandstone had apparently achieved at least 15th level as a cleric of Thor before being turned into a vampire and becoming a cleric of Hel. He was able to cast Mass Resist Fire, which effects one person per level, on 15 vampire dwarves, including himself.
