The Snail is a villain that opposes the Order of the Stick in one Dragon magazine strip and two other bonus strips in Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales.
The Snail is a "vampiric half-dragon half-troll lycanthropic fiendish snail" with psionic powers and a Challenge Rating of 14.
While the Snail sees the Order as its enemy and has taken the initiative in attacking them, its motivations have not been revealed and are unknown to the Order. The Snail's name is also unknown, if it has one.
Rich Burlew created the Snail because he wanted a recurring villain for the Dragon strips but didn't want to use a villain from the online continuity. The Snail first appeared in Dragon #345. It also returned twice in strips that were written for the Dragon but not yet released when it ceased publication. All three of these strips were included in the Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales collection. The Snail has not appeared in the mainline continuity.
